Birth Certificate
Required
A certified copy of your birth certificate must be apostilled in your home country before you travel. Upon arrival in Mexico, it must be translated by an official certified (perito) translator.

Medical Certificate
Required
You must undergo pre-nuptial blood tests (for syphilis, HIV, and blood type) at a clinic in Mexico. The tests must be performed within 14-15 days of the wedding, and the resulting medical certificate must be submitted with your application.

Tourist Permit (FMM)
Required
Your Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM) proves your legal presence in the country. You will receive this from immigration upon entry. Keep the original safe and bring a copy.

Single Status/CNI
If Applicable
Some states require a Certificate of No Impediment or a Single Status Affidavit. For U.S. citizens, this involves notarizing a self-drafted affidavit, having it apostilled, and then officially translated in Mexico.

If either party was previously married, you must provide an original or certified copy of the final divorce decree or death certificate. This document must also be apostilled in the home country and officially translated in Mexico.
