Your Options for Marriage Registration in Georgia
When you decide to seal the deal in Georgia, you can turn to two types of spaces: governmental halls formed only for the civil registration process or a ceremony on the spot (often called: “at the place of your choice”) set up outside. The government hall and on-site choice of a place for registration is available for you. This means you will have a government hall and then an outside choice to get married.
Tbilisi's Official Venues: The Request of the City
Tbilisi, our energetic capital city, is full of a number of the varied marriage registration locations. Available are such venues as governmental ones for uncomplicated brigadiers, and those less- formal who want their rituals in a more traditional manner.
The Public Service Hall of the House of Justice
Famous for its many facilities to serve the public, the House of Justice in Tbilisi is the place where a great number of couples from around the world start their wedding journey. It also acts as a marriage registration center.
- Common Hall Registration This is the cheapest option as the registration itself is for free. However, the environment is absolutely functional. You will be taking a queue ticket, giving your documents, and signing at the operator window. During peak hours, it can take 4-5 hours, and the essential things like the real ceremony atmosphere or proper photography are left out. Basically, it is just a "get it done" option.
- Just Cafe Service A complimentary alternative with free access to Just Cafe. In addition to that, you can enjoy the registration by which you barely notice that you are fulfilling the office's procedures. Although the service is free, you are required to order something from the cafe menu. It offers a chill and relaxed environment, in addition to that the unlike first-five book sceneries with a view towards the bustling common hall.
Tbilisi Registry ZAGSs: For More Praiseworthy Couples
For those wishing to combine the official part of the wedding with a grander setting, Tbilisi has a number of dedicated ZAGS (Registry Office). They offer a standard, yet personalized registration process.
- White Hall ZAGS Located at the side of the main House of Justice (2 Zviad Gamsakhurdia Named Right Bank), White Hall ZAGS is available from Monday to Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The fee is 169 GEL on weekdays and 258 GEL on weekends. Just so you know, the staff here are very strict and only offer 15-20 minutes for each ceremony, therefore planning is a must.
- ZAGS Konka (Historical Registry Office) You can find this charming ZAGS at 28/21 Chakhrukhadze St, which is open from Friday to Tuesday and charges the same prices as the White Hall. You can hold your ceremony in a historical site and benefit from our sister organization, Ori Wedding, as they have the right to book the time here at their preference because of our long-standing cooperation.
- ZAGS Uznadze This ZAGS greets couples at Uznadze St. 2, every Wednesday to Sunday. Its team comprising Tamta, Tamo, Tamro, and Eka is well-known for their readiness to help, even processing same-day applications when needed. They are lifesavers for those cases that need to be processed on time.
- Ceremonial Rituals House The House today is located at 21 Bochorma, an ancient private estate; the property is historically significant, once a posh location, which has been closed for political reasons until 2026. Although it is sublime property, you cannot access it at the moment.
More Locations: ZAGSs Outside Tbilisi
The beauty of Georgia extends well beyond the center, so do your options to register your marriage in the beautiful regions of the country. There are numerous lovely fast-growing towns, each Boggitor with different and charming settings.
- Mtatsminda Park ZAGS Inside Mtatsminda Park is a mountain that is still part of the city, this ZAGS provides stunning views and is open every day. The official registration fee is 255 GEL, the hall rental fee is 270 GEL, and the red carpet costs 50 GEL. Before submitting your application, it is best to contact the venue manager Nata for confirmation.
- Batumi ZAGS At the entrance to the boulevard in Batumi city, located in the Black Sea, you will meet a great building designed as a shark's eye-shaped one. Open on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, it charges 136 GEL on weekdays and 226 GEL on weekends. Note that you need to apply truck ahead of time as the building is not constantly open.
- Mtskheta ZAGS Located at 3B Arsakidze St, in the ancient capital of Mtskheta, it operates Thursday through Monday. The registrar's fees will be between 170 and 255 GEL depending on your choice of service. It is a perfect fit for history lovers and those who wish to be far away from the crowds.
- Sighnaghi ZAGS The "City of Love," Sighnaghi, with its ZAGS located at 10 Kostava St, welcomes you from Wednesday to Sunday. The fees are 136 GEL on weekdays and 226 GEL on weekends for the building. The manager has to coordinate ahead of time in every center, so it is recommended to not forget about it.
- Kutaisi ZAGS In the city's capital of Western Georgia, the citizens can fully utilize the perks of ZAGS located on Abashidze Avenue, 20. It is open from Thursday to the following Monday between 09:00 and 20:00. Like Batumi and Sighnaghi, the ceremony fee is 136 GEL on weekdays and 226 GEL on weekends.
Give Yourself the Gift of an Unforgettable Setting: On-Site Ceremonies
One of the best offerings that Georgia has is the possibility of an "On-site Registration" (Выездная регистрация). This option allows a registrar to assist you at almost any place you can think of in Georgia, thus your dreams of a wedding become a beautiful reality.
You can visualize your vows being exchanged near a traditional cellar with a kvevri, at a clifftop monastery, by a luxurious hotel, or amid the wonderful view of high mountains. In addition, this option is suitable for couples who intend to combine both the ceremony and reception at one venue.
- Main Requirements To have an on-site ceremony, you have to specify the exact location, date, and time in your application. Avoid making changes to your application form once you submit it, as it would be extremely hard. The registrar's fee usually varies between 170 and 255 GEL, depending on the region.
- Weather Advisory When going for outdoor mountain locations it is wise to take into account the weather conditions. Registration will not be cancelled because of rain or unexpected weather. In my opinion, many couples are now preferring to register their marriage in a Tbilisi ZAGS and after that, they have a symbolic celebration at their chosen mountain. Thus, they get the best of both worlds: legal certainty and a spectacular place like mountains without fear of bad weather.
